BlockMap ("the app") lets you turn real-world locations into playable Minecraft (Bedrock) worlds. To do this, the app sends the location you choose to our servers, which generate a world file for you to download. We collect only what we need to provide and improve this service, to manage your subscription, and to prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal data, and BlockMap contains no third-party advertising.
Data we collect
Location you choose. When you search for a place or use "my location," the app sends the selected coordinates / map area to our servers to generate your world. If you use "my location," we access your device's approximate (coarse) location for this purpose only. We do not track your location in the background.
Search queries. Place names you search are sent to our map and geocoding providers to return results.
Device and app identifiers. To create your account we use anonymous sign-in, which generates a random identifier for your installation, plus an app-integrity token used to protect the service from abuse. These identifiers are not linked to your real-world identity.
Purchase information. If you subscribe, Google Play processes your payment. We and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) receive your purchase and subscription status (for example, active or expired) linked to your anonymous identifier. We never receive your full payment card details.
Worlds you generate. The world files you create are stored temporarily on our servers so you can download them, and are associated with your anonymous identifier.
Technical and usage data. Like any online service, our servers automatically log technical information such as IP address, request time, and app version for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
How we use your data
To generate worlds from the locations you choose and deliver them to your device.
To provide place search and map display.
To create and manage your anonymous account and your free-world allowance.
To process and validate subscriptions and entitlements.
To secure the service, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
Data sharing and third-party services
We do not sell your data. We share limited data with service providers who help us run BlockMap:
Google Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymous authentication and app-integrity checks.
Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — payment processing for subscriptions.
RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management and validation.
Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting of our servers (Germany), where world generation and storage take place.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. We may also disclose data if required by law.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Data retention and deletion
We keep generated world files only for a limited time and then delete them from our servers. Account and subscription records are kept as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion of the data associated with your installation by contacting us at contact@nikandrsoftware.com; we will delete it unless we are required to keep it (for example, for tax or legal reasons).
Children's privacy
BlockMap is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the effective date above indicates the latest revision.
